COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.: The Purdy sisters showed that it does truly run in the family after earning spots on All-RMAC teams for the 2013-14 season.
Senior Tae'lor Purdy continued her athletic success on the court, earning her fourth All-RMAC team spot and her third consecutive first team selection. Sophomore Bay'lee Purdy also earned herself an All-RMAC Third Team selection.
The elder Purdy has had a standout senior campaign, earning CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America Third Team, All-District First Team and Academic All-RMAC First Team. On the court, she earned Mines Thanksgiving Classic Tournament MVP and earned a spot on the All-Tournament team. She also earned a spot on the Marriot Champions Circle Pioneer Premier All-Tournament team as well as preseason All-RMAC. She is ranked nationally in seven separate categories including ninth with 22.1 points per game and 13th with 14 total double-doubles on the season.
Bay'lee Purdy has come out with a bang as well, earning her first RMAC title at All-RMAC Third Team. She is second on the team with 13.5 points per game and averages 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. The sophomore guard is ranked first in the RMAC and third in the nation in three-pointer field goals per game and ranked third in the conference for her three-point field goal percentage. She owns a 38.8 three-point field goal percentage after hitting 83-214 total attempts from long distance.
The Rangers host the first round of the RMAC tournament tonight, March 4 at 4 p.m. in the Regis Fieldhouse.
