Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.: The Rangers hit the road yesterday ready to take on the #4 Colorado Mesa University Mavericks, but the powerhouse host of the RMAC Shootout proved too much for the Rangers to handle. RU fell 74-41, knocking them out of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Shootout in the semifinals.
Mesa had the upper hand from tipoff, outscoring Regis 35-22 in the first half and an even bigger 39-19 output in the second half to secure the win.
On the night, Regis was shut down cold, only allowed a 27.1 field goal percentage and 20.0 three-point field goal percentage.
The Purdy sisters held up the Rangers' offensive end with double figure points on the night.
Senior Tae'lor Purdy led the team with 16 points and 10 rebounds for her 15th double-double on the season.
The forward is now tied for first all-time at Regis for most double-doubles in a single season and is second in the Regis record books for all-time double-doubles throughout her career.
Sophomore Bay'lee Purdy collected 15 points for RU after hitting 5-9 from the field for a 55.6 field goal percentage and 3-6 from long distance for a 50.0 three-point percentage.
Regis is now out of the RMAC Shootout Championship Tournament.
