Box Score 2 Grand Junction, Colo.: #30 Colorado Mesa's pitching silenced the Ranger bats in a double header. Regis mustered just eight hits in the two games falling 10-0 and 8-1.
Colorado Mesa (9-3, 4-1 RMAC) scored one each in the first two innings before exploding for five in the third. Regis (4-8, 1-4 RMAC) was hampered by strikeouts with 12 in the first game, while collecting just two hits. Ty Overboe and Logan Knox collected a hit apiece for RU.
CMU again got off to a hot start in game two as they scored all eight of their runs over the first four innings, including three in the first. The Rangers responded with a run in the top of the second when Logan Knox scored on a wild pitch.
Tony Piazza was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate in game two, while John Mulhern was 2-for-3.
The two teams will finish up the four-game series Monday afternoon.
