Baseball Drops Second in a Row to Colorado Mines

Golden, Colo.: Colorado Mines pounded out 17 hits and beat Regis in a battle for the RMAC playoffs 15-4.

Colorado Mines scored seven runs in the first and two each in the second and third and again the Rangers were hurt by errors, three of them, leading to six unearned runs.  The Rangers scored a run in the fourth and two more in the sixth before scoring one in the ninth.

Jesse Porras, Jay Rollinson and Logan Knox each had two hits with Rollinson going 2-for-2 in a pinch-hit role.  Tony Piazza and Knox each had a double, while Tony Schicktanz drove in a team-best two runs.

Kaden Koch and Jordan Blaylock threw the final two innings and combined allowed no earned runs, while scattering just two hits and striking out two.

The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m.
