Rangers Play in the Snow, Splits with Adams State

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

ALAMOSA, Colo.:  With the snow coming down hard, the Rangers (13-21, 12-13 RMAC) took to the diamond against the Grizzlies of Adams State College.  The home team won game one 1-0 with a walk off homer in the seventh and the visiting Rangers defeated their hosts 6-1 in game two.

It was almost a perfect game for both sides with the Rangers garnering only two hits and the Grizzlies earning four in the game one.

The first batter in the bottom of the seventh inning lined a solo homerun to ensure the win for Adams State.

Sophomore Nicole Hull pitched a strong six innings, allowing only four hits and the one earned run.  She fanned three after facing 23 batters.

Juniors Taylor Wilcox and Rachel Illias both snagged singles during the game.

Due to the heavy snowfall and cold weather conditions, there were technological difficulties with official stats in game two.  A full right up of game two will be completed tomorrow.

Also tomorrow weather pending, the Rangers will face off with the Grizzlies at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Alamosa.
