Grand Junction, Colo.: Regis and Colorado Mesa were locked in a five-set epic battle less than a week ago at the Colorado Premier Challenge and they again locked horns in the first game of the RMAC schedule on Thursday night.  This time #23 Colorado Mesa swept the Rangers in three by scores of 25-11, 25-23 and 25-21.

The Rangers came out real slow early but responded in set two and led 23-22 before CMU (7-2, 1-0 RMAC) reeled off three in a row to close out the set.  The Rangers couldn't respond in set three in front of the nearly 700 people at Brownson Arena.

Gina Morgan led the way with 11 kills, while Mary Schroeder had nine.  RU (5-4, 0-1 RMAC) hit just .116 on the match compared to .220 for Colorado Mesa.  Maya Kirkeby had 22 digs, while Rebecca Sponcil had 31 assists and 10 digs.

RU travels down the million dollar highway to take on Fort Lewis on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
