Box Score

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Regis University men's basketball team (3-6, 1-2 RMAC) traveled to Colorado Springs to face the University of Colorado- Colorado Springs Mountain Lions (5-5, 2-1 RMAC) and dropped their third Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game of the year 84-75.

Regis began the game with a lot of intensity and great shooting as three Rangers tallied ten points or more in the first half. Freshman Jarrett Brodbeck led all scorers with 12 points, going 5-8 from the field and connecting on two three-pointers. Sophomore Dexter Sienko and junior Noah King both contributed 10 points in the first half, helping RU to a 41-30 lead heading into halftime.

The second half proved to be another story for Regis as they were unable to keep things going. The Mountain Lions fought back from the 11 point-deficit, and took their first lead of the game with 13 minutes remaining in the second half.

A couple minutes later the Rangers would take the lead back and extend it to to three on a jump shot from Sienko. UCCS caught fire from the field with less than six minutes to go in the game. The Mountain Lions went on a 12-2 run that put them in control of the game in the closing minutes. RU could not fight their way back into the game and UCCS took the game 84-75 at the end of regulation.

RU shot 40.6 percent in the game while the Mountain Lions knocked down an impressive 55.1 percent of their attempts from the field including 10-19 from beyond the arc. Regis limited their turnover to 10 for the entire game, and forced UCCS into 14 turnovers of their own.

Brodbeck led the Rangers with 22 points while Noah King added 17 on 5-11 shooting, knocking down all four of his free throw attempts. Sienko and freshman Ryan Beisty each collected a game-high nine rebounds while chipping in 14 points, and six points respectively.

The men's basketball team will return to action tomorrow as they travel to Metro State University-Denver to face the cross-town rival Roadrunners in an RMAC showdown at 7 p.m. All away games can be streamed live in high definition by clicking the Stretch Internet tab at www.regisrangers.com
