Box Score Pueblo, Colorado – Extending the win streak to six, the No. 14 Regis University Ranger women's lacrosse team held the Colorado State-Pueblo ThunderWolves to just one goal throughout the entire match. The Rangers tally another to the win column moving to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
RU netted 13 first half goals kicked off by junior Emily Elkin (Alisa Viejo, California) just two minutes in. Regis held the ThunderWolves scoreless throughout first half play. 11 different Rangers contributed to the win. Senior Emily Behr (St. Louis, Missouri) led RU offensively with four goals, two each per half, and five assists. Senior Lily Colley (Wells, Maine) and junior Maribel Gallegos (Lakewood, Colorado) both scored three goals.
Goalkeepers Gianna Lombardi (Arvada, Colorado) and Kenley Harrington (Fullerton, California) each saw minutes for Regis, recording 30 minutes a piece with Harrington earning the win and moving to 3-0 overall. Harrington did not have to make a save and Lombardi tallied one save on two shots.
The lone goal that CSU-Pueblo scored happened just after the start of the second half after two minutes of play. Freshman Jada Bonner (Denver, Colorado) tallied six draw controls, a team high, with Colley, Behr, and sophomore Katie Coleman (Broomfield, Colorado) each causing two turnovers.
The Rangers took 36 shots with 28 being on goal to the ThunderWolves seven while winning 13 of the 23 total draw controls. RU completed 3-6 free position attempts and committed just 13 turnovers while forcing 22 turnovers.
Regis is back on the road Saturday, March 28 at Adams State. First draw is set for 3:00 p.m.
