After a rough start in the first game yesterday, the Rangers put together back-to-back wins over the Orediggers Sunday afternoon 9-1 and 8-0.
On three hits and one error in the top of the second with the help from freshman Delaney McGinn (Arvada, Colorado) knocking one over the right field fence, Regis took a 2-0 lead.
Junior Nicole Hull (Westminster, Colorado) got the Rangers out of an Oredigger bases loaded situation in the bottom of the second striking out back-to-back batters to close the inning. On four hits and two runs, McGinn and sophomore Alyssa Finger (Las Vegas, Nevada) each earned RBI's in the top of the third extending the lead to 4-0.
Hull continuing the consistency on the mound for Regis tallied two more in the strikeout column in the bottom of the third to leave one on base and hold the Orediggers scoreless. She also recorded an RBI in the top of the fourth singling to left field making the score 5-0.
Four top of the sixth runs on two doubles and a single sealed the victory for the Rangers. Mines brought their only run across the plate in the bottom of the sixth but could not generate enough offensive momentum falling in the first game of the doubleheader.

Three singles, a double, and a walk combined with three stolen bases allowed Regis to score five and take the lead. Sophomore Carlie Sexton (Littleton, Colorado), senior Taylor Wilcox (El Centro, California), and McGinn all tallied RBI's; Sexton with two.
RU tacked on three more in the top of the fourth putting the game out of reach for the Orediggers at a score of 8-0 and enforcing the mercy rule to end the game after five innings of play. Wilcox, Hull, and McGinn led Regis with three hits apiece. Junior Nicole Aviles (Phoenix, Arizona) earned the win allowing just three hits and no runs to move to an overall record of 12-4.
Throughout the four-game series, the Rangers allowed just seven runs, six of which came in one game. Sexton and Hull led Regis once again offensively combining for six hits and five RBI's on the day. Overall, RU totaled 14 RBI's on 21 hits for a total of 17 runs, 13 of which were earned runs.
