Box Score DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University women's basketball team defeated the Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners 67-62 to improve to an overall mark of 7-1 and 2-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
 
The Rangers came out strong at the start of the game holding a 22-9 lead after the first quarter. RU held their largest lead thus far in the game at the five-minute mark of the second quarter, 32-17. Although the Roadrunners outscored the Rangers 17-16 in the second, Regis controlled a 38-26 lead at the break.
 
RU picked up right where they left off in the third quarter continuing to control the lead and pace of the game. Heading into the final quarter of play, the Rangers led 53-39. The Roadrunners began slowly chipping away at the deficit getting it down to single-digits with just over five minutes to play, 60-51.
 
A back-to-back pair of free throws for MSU Denver brought the visitors within five, the closest since early in the first quarter. Regis knocked down some crucial free throws going 5-of-5 in the final minutes of the game to hold off the Roadrunners.
 
Majestie Robinson led the Rangers with 18, including a ten-point first quarter. Robinson went 6-of-14 from the field and 5-for-8 from the line. She also dished out three assists and tallied three steals.
 
Kaylie Rader added 14 points on 7-of-11 from the field while Mary Sigler recorded 13 going 4-of-7 from the field and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. The Rangers outrebounded MSU Denver 46-34 while forcing 11 turnovers.
 
Regis hosts UC-Colorado Springs (6-3, 3-0 RMAC) Saturday, December 10 at 5 p.m.
