Box Score DENVER, Colo. - The Rangers defeated #17 ranked Fort Lewis 78-76 in a back and forth battle.
Regis finished with a shooting percentage of 44.8 from the floor and 45 from three-point range. RU struggled from the free throw line converting half of their 18 attempts.
Regis took the lead at halftime up by only three, 40-37. Neither team was able to string together a run in the first half.
The largest lead in the first half was just seven points. A three from beyond the arc from
Kevin Metoyer put the Rangers up 38-31 at the 3:16 mark.
The second half followed a similar pattern as the first including eight lead changes. Fort Lewis outscored RU by one point in the second 20 minutes of play.
Regis earned the lead at the 11:38 mark and held onto it for the rest of the game with their largest lead of nine points occurring with 6:28 left to play.
Dexter Sienko led RU in scoring with 20 points. Sienko also grabbed six rebounds.
Troy Anderson led in rebounds with seven and snagged two steals.
Kevin Metoyer dished the most assists with four.
The home win advances the Rangers overall record to 10-3 and 4-3 in RMAC play.
Next on the schedule for RU is a trip to Gunnison to take on Western State. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
