Rangers fall to Fort Lewis in first home loss

Box Score DENVER, Colo. - Women's basketball fell to Fort Lewis 49-58 for their first home loss of the season.

The #22 ranked Rangers struggled from the free throw line posting an overall team percentage of 40. Both percentages from the field and from beyond the arc were 33.3%.

The first quarter ended with RU up 18-16 but Fort Lewis took over in second posting 22 points to the Rangers' six. The first half ended with the Skyhawks up 38-24.

Regis attempted a comeback in the third putting up 14 points while Fort Lewis only managed nine. Both teams added 11 points in the fourth to allow the Skyhawks to finish with the lead.

Chante Church led the Rangers in scoring with 12 points and four rebounds. Mary Sigler added 11 points and Majestie Robinson had 10.

Karlyn Johnson and Kaylie Rader both grabbed five rebounds. Rader also had two blocks.

Church recorded two steals Robinson led in assists with four.

This loss brings Regis to a 10-2 overall record and 5-2 in conference.

The Rangers travel to Gunnison January 6 for a 5:30 pm matchup against Western State.
