HAYS, Kan. - The Regis University men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Hays, Kansas this afternoon to compete in the Fort Hays State University Tigers Open.
The women earned a 3rd place finish, recording 89 points.
Jennifer VanEtten paced the Rangers on the women's side, crossing the finish line in 20:14.4 to secure an 11th place finish. She was closely followed by
Sarah Smagacz who came in 19th with a time of 20:28.9. Behind her in 24th was
Emily Perez, posting a time of 20:38.4. Coming in at 20:41.0 was
Maeve Ahern who garnered a 26th place finish while Christina Kenned followed in 28th after crossing the line in 20:43.8.
Also placing for Regis was Theodora Zastro in 45th with a time of 21:11.4,
Anna McAtee in 51st with a time of 21:20.0 and
My Yen Nguyen in 64th in 21:45.4
For the men, Regis was led by
Bryan Martinez who finished the afternoon in 52nd place after crossing the line in 27:33.3.
Vincent Frazier trailed him in 62nd, earning a time of 27:41.4 while
Emilio Tovilla crossed at the 28:30.7 minute mark to finish in 95th. Behind him in 128th was
Andrew McNamee with a time of 29:47.8 and
Justin Hinckley in 148th in 31:10.0.
The Rangers now prepare for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships on November 3 held in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
