Box Score SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – The Regis University women's soccer team (8-7-3, 7-5-1 RMAC) was eliminated from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament when Westminster College (14-3-1, 10-2-1) scored the golden-goal in the 106
thminute of play, ending the game 2-1.
How It Happened: Regis got off to a slow start, recording their first shot of the contest in the 34
thminute after surrendering three shots on the defensive end. After the Rangers managed their first shot, the tides turned in their favor.
Two minutes later, in the 36
thminute, junior
Tori Rinsem beat the Westminster keeper with a shot over her right shoulder, giving RU a 1-0 lead.
Regis was forced to play in their own defensive third of the field to begin the second half as the Griffins garnered five shots on goal in the first 15 minutes. Their fifth shot, in the 60
thminute, found netting to even the score at one.
The Rangers did not place a shot on frame for the rest of regulation and the game was sent into overtime. Six minutes into the second overtime period, RU surrendered the golden goal, dropping the 2-1 and ending their season.
