GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. –  After dropping a game earlier in the morning, the Regis University softball team bounced back with a 9-3 win over Chadron State College in its third game of the RMAC Tournament.

The Rangers will play again at 7:45 Friday night against the winner of the Adams State College and Metro State University Denver contest.

How It Happened: The Rangers scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to blow the game wide open and secure the must-win victory. Emily John paced RU with three RBI, while Jaiden Johnson and Melissa Heronema scored twice.

For the second time in the tournament, Logan Losh came into the game as a reliever and shut the door on the Eagles, eliminating them from the championship. Losh pitched three innings of shutout ball and struck out three. She earned her 21st victory of the season.

Regis built a 3-0 lead but that was erased in the bottom of the third by a three-run frame by the Eagles. The game remained tied until John drew a bases loaded walk to put RU ahead for good in the sixth.

The Rangers would add more than enough insurance runs in the seventh inning, with John providing the keynote double that scored two and pushed RU's lead to six. Ana Apodaca, Delaney McGinn and Heronema also provided run scoring at bats.

Game Notes: The Rangers recorded nine runs after being shutout by Colorado Christian in the first game of the day. Tori Brown and Johnson each had two hits for RU. Taylor Armitage started for RU. She lasted four innings and allowed three runs and two earned runs.
