COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Regis University men's and women's cross country teams raced at the Colorado College Cross Country Invitational, held at Monument Valley Park North, where the men took seventh and the women finished fifth on Saturday.

Leading the way for the Rangers on the men's side was senior
Vincent Frazier, who ended his race with a final time of 28 minutes, 56.4 seconds to finish 47th overall in the men's 8k race.

Frazier was followed in 54th by sophomore
Bryan Martinez, who contributed a finishing time of 29:13.7.

Freshman
George Kaftan crossed the finish line at the 29:57.3 mark in 63rd overall.

Senior
Emilio Tovilla (31:18.4) and sophomore
Andrew McNamee (32:22.5) capped off the Regis men's scoring, finishing in 74th and 78th, respectively.

Trinidad State Junior College finished first in the men's race, while Colby Community College sophomore Wesley Banguria won the men's race in which he broke the tape in 25:04.8.

Freshman
Annika Zenk began where she left off from last week, topping the scorecard for RU on the women's side in their 6k race. Zenk took 22nd overall and clocked in at 25:32.5.

Sarah Smagacz registered a 26:05.5 for her finishing time while claiming a 33rd-place result.

Coming in under the 28-minute mark, senior
Theodora Zastrocky reached the finish-line plane in 49th with the clock reading 27:54.7.

Samantha Holland in 51st (28:06.3) and freshman
Lily Saddoris in 54th (29:20.9) also factored into the women's score for the Rangers.

Adams State took first among teams in the women's race, and junior Alden Gruidel of Metropolitan State University of Denver beat all competitors with her winning time of 22:46.3.

Regis will next travel to the west coast for the Capital Cross Challenge, hosted by Sacramento State at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex, on Saturday, Sept. 28.
