CHADRON, Neb. - The Regis University men's basketball team (1-3, 1-3 RMAC) kept their road streak going with a matchup versus the Chadron State College Eagles(2-2, 2-2 RMAC) tonight.
How it Happened: It was a classic defensive brawl in the first half, both the Rangers and Eagles had a difficult time scoring. Regis shot only 24 percent from the field and CSC shot 40 percent as the first half came to a close. However, the graduate transfer guard
Troy Brady was shooting lights out and led the team with 15 points in the first half. He was solely responsible for a 6-0 run three minutes into the half which gave RU a 9-4 advantage. It was a true back and forth affair tonight, and it carried into the second half.
Scoring picked up significantly for both teams to start the final half. CSC's center Jacob Jefferson picked up a double-double by scoring 20 points and nabbing 13 rebounds. RU was able to keep steady though. Quick buckets from senior guard
Brian Dawson was a supportive move, but the Eagles ran away as the half came to a halt. The final score was 59-74.
Here's what head coach
Brady Bergeson had to say about tonights performance, "Our kids played hard again tonight. We continue to do a good job of forcing mistakes. We have to find ourselves offensively, and we have to find ways to defend better in the second half."
Game Notes: A big highlight was Brady had himself a night. He tied his career-high in points after tonight's affair, he scored 17 points. Overall, he finished by going (5-10 FG, 2-7 3-PT, 5-5 FT) with a rebound added in. Plus, the consistent sophomore guard
Will Cranston-Lown actually broke his career-high tonight, he dropped 22.
