DENVER - The Regis University women's basketball team (7-6,3-3 RMAC) squared off against the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets (7-6,5-2 RMAC) for a New Year's Eve showdown at the Regis Field House. BHSU's impressive defense held the Rangers to a season-low 3-point percentage as the Yellow Jackets won it, 62-46.
How it Happened: BHSU raced out to a 18-5 lead as the first period came to a close. The Ranger's were having a difficult time on both ends of the court as they couldn't quite find an offensive rhythm, while the Yellow Jackets enjoyed a 46% shooting percentage from the field en route to 18 first half field goals.
With RU down by 10 at the half, BHSU would pile on more points thanks to a third period combined field goal and 3-point percentage of nearly 70%. RU mounted their best field goal percentage of the night in the fourth and final period by shooting 60%, but it wasn't enough to make the comeback.
Game Notes: Senior
Erin Stroberg (6-7 FG) led the team in scoring with 14 points. She had six rebounds and three steals to add to her night.
