ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Regis University women's basketball team (8-9, 8-8 RMAC) lost their final regular season game of the season 69-76 on the road against the Adams State University Grizzlies (4-10, 4-10 RMAC) on Saturday evening. Despite the loss, Regis has claimed the final spot in the RMAC Tournament as the No. 8 seed.
How it Happened: After the first half of play, the Rangers had a 36-32 advantage over the home team. In the first quarter, RU posted a 31.25 percent shooting percentage from the floor. The ladies rebounded in the second quarter by shooting nearly 62 percent from the field (8-of-13), including 4-of-8 from deep.
The second half is where things started to tilt in favor of the Grizzlies. Regis lost their lead around the midway point of the third quarter, and they finished the quarter trailing by three points, 53-50. In the fourth, ASU stretched their lead to 11 points, 61-50 following a made three-pointer from the Grizzlies.
At the 5:06 mark, senior
Whitney Jacob brought the deficit down to four points, 63-67, but that quickly grew to a 10 point margin following a few missed shots from the Rangers. The home team made their free throws down the stretch and came away with the 76-69 win over RU.

Erin Fry (14 PTS, 4-9 FG, 2-3 3-PT, 4-5 FT) was the team leader with 14 points and six assists. Jacob (5-13, 2-4 3-PT) was next in line with 13 points and she grabbed eight boards. Sophomore
Morgan R. Smith (4-8 FG, 3-6 3-PT) was the only other player in double-figures as she added 10 points in the game. Senior
Grace O'Neill grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and chipped in four points. As team, Regis finished with a 43.1 percent clip from the field, despite hitting 11 of their 24 shots from beyond the arc.
Up Next for the Rangers: The Regis University women's basketball team has all but locked up the No. 8 spot in the RMAC Tournament and will look to move on and face the No. 1 seeded Colorado School of Mines Orediggers on Tuesday, March 2 in Golden, Colorado at 5:30 p.m.
