GUNNISON, Colo. – The No. 23 ranked Regis University volleyball team (8-2, 8-1 RMAC) competed in a three-team pod this afternoon with the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks (4-7, 4-7 RMAC) and the host Western Colorado University Mountaineers (3-4, 3-4 RMAC).

Joel List, on two wins on Saturday, "We were challenged by both of our opponents today, and I am proud of our team for sticking with our game plan, and also making adjustments when necessary.
Halle Theis had a great day, and really turned it on in the last two sets of the day.
Haley Kennedy was also very impressive in all three aspects of her game, defense, coverage and serving. All of this played into our success this weekend."
GAME ONE | Regis 3, Fort Lewis 0
How it Happened: Regis stayed true to form in their opening match, following the same pattern we have seen as of late. The Rangers improved their hitting percentage in each set going from .238 in set one, .257 in set two, and finished with a match-best .395 in the final set of the night.
RU won set one 25-20 with 15 of their points coming from kills. In set two, they won a close one that went beyond 25 points with the visitors taking the second set 27-25 with 13 kills. The final set also went to Regis, winning by their largest margin 25-18.
Game Notes: Senior
Caitlyn Burroway was the team leader with 11 kills, but the performance from freshman Madden Mallory was the highlight of the day. Mallory tallied eight kills without committing zero errors in 10 attempts, giving her a .800 hitting percentage. Burroway added 10 digs, giving her a double-double in the match. Mara LeGrand who also had 36 assists in the match, a 12.0 assists per set average. Junior

Ayala Plummer each had four blocks in the match, and Burroway recorded a remarkable four service errors for the Rangers.
GAME TWO | Regis 3, Western Colorado 1
How it Happened: Match number two of the day was a four set win for RU. The Regis offense stuttered in set two, which helped the Mountaineers win their only set of the match. The Rangers hit .000 for set two, but hit over .268 in the other three sets.
Set one went to RU 25-21, scoring 17 points on kills. The second set, which was a difficult offensive set for Regis as they only managed eight kills, and matched that with eight errors. Western also had their best offensive set in set two with 15 kills and a .286 hitting percentage. Set three, the Rangers rebounded with the most efficient set of the match, hitting .452 with only one errors and one error. The final set was another big offensive set for RU as they hit .333 with 16 kills.
Game Notes: Freshman
Halle Theis was the star of the game, posting a season-high 16 kills while hitting .438. Burroway (13) and Plummer (10) each tallied double-digit kills. Burroway tallied 22 digs in the match, three short of her career-high. LeGrand, the reigning Setter of the Week, tallied 50 assists (12.5 assists per set), five kills and nine digs in the match.
Defensively, the Regis block was very impressive as they recorded 24 blocks. Seven of those came from Siurek, six came from Plummer, LeGrand and Mallory each had five and Theis added one of her own.
Up Next for the Rangers: The No. 23 ranked Regis University volleyball team will return to Denver for their next two matches, the first of which will be a road match against No. 3 ranked Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners on Friday, March 12 at 6 p.m. Three nights later, Regis will come home to face the Colorado Christian University Cougars on Monday, March 15 at 5 p.m.
