ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Regis University cross country teams traveled south to Adams State University to compete in the 28
th annual Joe I. Vigil Invitational in Alamosa, Colorado. Both teams finished third in their respective heats with the women earning 80 points in their team scoring while the men finished with 83 points.
On the women's side, freshman
Abigail Clarke paced Regis with a final time of 21:09.0, finishing 23
rd overall in the women's 5K race. Junior
Lily Saddoris (26
th) finished next for the Rangers with a time of 21:37.6. Juniors
Mikaela Taylor (29
th, 22:40.0) and
McKenna Uhing (30
th, 23:02.0) as well as freshman
Katrina Kelley (31
st, 24:37.5) and sophomore
Julianne Pelletier (32
nd, 25:25.2) rounded out the pack for RU.
Jumping over to the men's 8K race, senior
Bryan Martinez was the first Regis runner to cross the finish line with a time of 29:29.1 which placed him 33
rd overall in the race.
Judd Ogle was the next to come in as he finished 35
th overall with a time of 30:13.2. Freshman
William Oakes (38
th, 31:11.9), sophomore
Ezra Weir (40
th, 35:30.9) and freshman
Aaron Bennett (41
st, 38:28.4) finished out the race for the Rangers.
Adams State took the top spot in both races while Trinidad State Junior College came in second. Regis placed third overall in the team standings on both sides.
