SAN DIEGO – Day two of the Seaside Invitational wrapped up with the No. 22 ranked Regis University volleyball team (1-2) suffering a five-set loss to Point Loma Nazarene University Sea Lions (1-1) on Friday night. Graduate student

How it Happened: Regis carried their momentum from game one this afternoon into the opening set against tournament host, Point Loma. The tea opened the set with a 5-1 lead that quickly evaporated into a 10-8 deficit. The Rangers pulled together and rallied for a 25-19 set one win to take 1-0 set advantage in the match.
The home-sided Sea Lions countered with wins in set two and three by scores of 25-18 and 25-22, respectively. Now trailing two sets to one, it was time for RU to buckle down once again to knot things up in set four. That is exactly what they did, despite both teams hitting .000 in the fourth set, Regis owned an advantage offensively with 11 kills to only six for Point Loma. With a 25-21 win in set four, that set the table for the first five-set match of the season for the Rangers.

On the RU side, they had 10 kills and only six attacking errors for a .108 hitting percentage. On the flip side, the Sea Lions errored only one time, but only had four kills in the final set.
