COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Regis men's and women's cross country teams ran in the 2022 Colorado Springs Cross Country Open in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Friday evening.

The women's team finished eighth overall and the men's team finished ninth overall.

"For me, we finished and did what we needed to do. The girls got their five races in and I'm just so proud that they ran with heart," said head coach John Esquibel. They had me in tears with what they did today. I'm very proud of each and every one of them. The effort was there, the times didn't matter."

How It Happened: Leading off for the women was freshman Mariah Heuer finishing 75th overall and with a time of 27 minutes, 46.2 seconds. For the men, Judd Ogle led the pack, finishing 101st overall and with a time of 30:58.2.

"Mariah did what she needed to do today. She helped her teammates, and when it was time for her to go, she did just that. As for Judd, he ran really well today and is in a much better place than we were a few weeks ago," said Esquibel.
