| By:

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Regis University men's cross country team competed at Monument Valley Park for the second time this season at the Ted Castaneda Classic hosted by Colorado College.

Graduate student Wyatt Farace crossed the finish line first for the Rangers with a time of 27 minutes, 22.3 seconds, placing 20th overall.

"The men ran well today, they averaged 2 1/2 minutes faster today than they did at this course one year ago," said Regis men's cross country head coach, Evan Verbal. "They are getting a lot better and we are excited. Still have work to do, but we have momentum going into Alabama next weekend."

In 2022, the men's team averaged a finish time of 31:58, but this year, the average time to finish shrunk to 29:19.

How It Happened: With Farace crossing first for the Rangers, senior Judd Ogle finished second for the Regis squad and 33rd overall with a time of 28:46.4.

Rounding out the remaining four runners was William Oakes with a time of 29:08.3, Demetrious Brown with a 29:32.8, Aaron Bennett with 31:49.9 and John Murphy with 32:08.0.

Up Next: The Rangers travel to Huntsville, Alabama to run in the UAH Chargers Cross Country Invitational on Oct. 7.
