HOW IT HAPPENED

The Orediggers, who are ranked number 1 overall in the United Soccer Caches Poll, wasted no time getting into action, firing their first shot on target in the seventh minute that was saved by Grace Glover. CSM continued the offensive pressure with three more shots in the next five minutes. By the end of the half, Mines had 10 total shots, with 4 of them on goal.

The Orediggers came out strong in the second half, taking three shots early on, with one of them on target. Regis was forced to play a man down for the final 30 minutes, which gave CSM an advantage. In the 66th minute, the Orediggers broke through and scored their first goal. Just five minutes later, Madison Cullinan registered the Rangers' first shot attempt of the half, but Mines continued to dominate, adding two more goals shortly after.

"The players fought so hard; they defended well against the top team in the country." Head Coach Jeff Frykholm "To go 0-0 in the first half, I was really proud of the way we had to emergency defend."

"We learned that there is a lot of fight in us, a lot of willingness to sacrifice, we played hard and I'm just really proud of that." Continued Frykolm.
