Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. – The Rangers traveled down to Pueblo on Friday to take on the Colorado State University Pueblo ThunderWolves and kept the game close through all four quarters, but suffered its first loss in nine games, 83-70.
With the loss, the Rangers move to 16-4 overall and 11-3 in the RMAC while the win improved the ThunderWolves to 12-10 overall, and 7-7 in conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Regis kept the game close against the ThunderWolves, only down by one point going into the second half and shooting 46% (12-for-23) through the first two quarters.
The Rangers inflated their lead to five punctuated by a layup from senior guard Erin Fry, who finished the night with a team-high 24 points.
Fry led a trio of Rangers in double-digit scoring as graduate student guard Josey Ryan and junior guard Athena Saragoza finished with 19 and 12 points, respectively.
Unfortunately the script would flip in CSU Pueblo's favor as they shot exactly 50% from the floor (7-for-14) and drained a total of three three-point shots in the fourth.
Regis was unable to close the gap in the final minutes as the ThunderWolves shot-making prevented the Rangers from making any sort of run.
