Rangers Shoot Lights Out in Blowout Win over CSU Pueblo

DENVER, Colo. -- The Regis University men's basketball team defeated Colorado State University Pueblo (CSUP) 92-59 Saturday afternoon in the Regis fieldhouse. With the win, the Rangers improve to 8-8 (6-2 RMAC), while the Thunderwolves move to 8-8 (3-5 RMAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first score of the game came by way of a Ty Cox layup assisted by Kobe Sanders. Sanders recorded nine assists in the game, bumping him to the top of the RMAC standings. The Ranger guard now leads the conference with 71 assists this season.

With 11 points, Cox was one of six Rangers to record double-digit points in the game and nine total Rangers to tally points in the matchup. Chase Mayo Harmon led all Rangers with 16 points. Sanders added 15, Jalen Brown and Eddy Egun chipped in 13 a piece, and Trey Bryant posted 12.

"We took care of our controllables tonight. Our ability to take care of the ball and take what they gave us made us hard to guard tonight. We had a nice balanced attack," head coach Brady Bergeson said.

The Rangers led 49-26 at the end of the first half. The home team continued to build on their lead en route to a 33-point victory, dominating the Thunderwolves in assists, steals, and shooting percentage. The Rangers posted a 58.1 field goal percentage compared to the Thunderwolves' 37.3.

The win bumps the Rangers into third place in the RMAC ahead of their Tuesday night matchup against Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver). As one of only two teams undefeated in conference play, the MSU Denver Roadrunners are tied for first place in the RMAC.
