Rangers Compete Against Division 1 Talent in Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Regis University Women's Outdoor Track and Field Team competed at the Colorado State University Jack Christiansen Invite this weekend. The meet was not scored.

In the 400-meter run, Alex Baer took 5th place with a time of 1:05.95, while Gaia Price was in 6th at 1:10.59. Allie Braney also notched a top-10 finish, taking 7th in the 5,000-meter run with a mark of 19:26.18.

Madilyn Gifford and Abigail Blanner were the final track athletes to compete, finishing 14th (2:39.68) and 15th (3:00.95) in the 800-meter run, respectively.

A trio of Rangers competed in both the shot put and discus. Kimberly Salazar threw the shot put 9.02m (29' 7.25") for 13th, and the discus 30.45m (99'11"). Marisa Martinez took 16th in both, recording 7.43m (24'4.5") in the shot put and 25.34m (83'2") in the discus. Amy Batista had marks of 4.60m (15'1.25") in the shot put and 7.31m (24'0") in the discus for 18th place and 17th place, respectively.

The Rangers return to action on Friday, April 4 at the CU-Boulder Jerry Quiller Classic.
