DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Women's Soccer team, who were receiving votes in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll, drew a scoreless tie, 0-0, with California State University San Bernardino on Sunday afternoon. The Rangers move to 4-1-1, while the Coyotes now sit at 2-2-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The match would start slow, as the first shot would not be taken until CSUSB found the right post at 16:39. Natalie Bunch took the first shot for Regis, but it would be saved by the Coyotes. Elsa Nolen and Fernandez Rodriguez had a pair of shots in quick succession in the 22nd minute, and there would be only two more shots the rest of the half, both by CSUSB, with Helen Stegner saving one.
Kayla Arucan took over in the goal for the second half, and quickly recorded a save of her own. The Yotes kept the aggressiveness up taking four more shot over the next 10 minutes, but none were on target. The next 12 minutes saw no shots, but a handful of fouls on each squad. Nolen ended the shooting drought with a shot on goal at 74:26. Both teams had late opportunities, setting up free kicks deep in the other's territories, but the game ended, 0-0.
