Orediggers get the Better of the Rangers in a Lights Out Offensive Affair

DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Men's Basketball team suffered an 81-120 loss to Colorado School of Mines on Thursday night in the Regis Fieldhouse. The Rangers fall to 1-15 (0-10 RMAC) on the year, while the Orediggers improve to 10-10 (6-3 RMAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED

Cooper Frith scored the first four points for the Rangers, followed by a few quick turnaround jumpers from Gunner Walters, but Mines had an answer for each basket, going up 16-10. Dylan Forbord scored in the paint, and earned a steal, but CSM was still able to extend their lead to 23-14. Raheem Brizendine hit a pull-up J to end the run, while Walters connected from deep, brining the score to 28-21. While Brizendine, Walters, and Nick Marabito all added three-pointers for RU, the Orediggers were just as hot from deep. Marabito and Frith hit late jumpers, but CSM led 59-40 at the half.

Both teams remained in the zone to start the second, with Brizendine and Marabito scoring on Walters' assists, and Colorado School of Mines continuing to stroke from three. The Rangers were able to continue scoring, as Frith and Brizendine earned trips to the line, but the Rangers were unable to cut into the Orediggers lead. Forbord scored twice in the paint, while Luke Soden hit a jumper and assisted a Marabito triple. He then stole the ball and threw down a dunk on the break. Marabito closed the game out with two more threes, but Regis fell, 120-81.
