LAS VEGAS, NM - The Regis University Women's Basketball Team fell 88-90 to New Mexico Highlands University on Saturday Afternoon. The Rangers fall to 0-16 (0-12 RMAC while the Cowgirls sit at 10-9 (6-6 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
New Mexico Highlands opened the scoring, but Kate Gallery answered with a turnaround jumper and Caitlin Turnbow followed with her first basket of the night on a layup as the Rangers jumped out to an early 8–6 lead. Jessica Bollwahn and Gallery kept the momentum going with back-to-back three-pointers, but the Cowgirls closed the quarter on a run to take a 24–16 advantage after one.
Turnbow connected on a jumper to open the second quarter, and Kaylin Venick added a layup as Regis looked to cut into the deficit. Gallery followed with a hook shot, and Bollwahn finished inside, but the Rangers still found themselves trailing 36–25 midway through the period. Gallery and Bollwahn each knocked down a three late in the quarter, but Regis headed into halftime down 41–31.
To open the second half, Mary Crossland came up with a steal and dished to Jessica Bollwahn for the finish. Kate Gallery followed with a driving layup, and Bollwahn added a pull-up jumper to pull the Rangers within four at 45–41. New Mexico Highlands responded with a six-point run, but Bollwahn stopped the surge with a turnaround jumper and Gallery knocked down a pair of free throws. Regis trailed 57–48 heading into the fourth.
Kaylin Venick opened the final quarter with a layup, followed by a jumper from Bollwahn and two free throws from Gallery. After Caitlin Turnbow secured a rebound, Gallery capitalized with a three-pointer, and Bollwahn added a pair at the line. Gallery later drilled another triple late in the game, but the Rangers ultimately fell 77–68.

Gallery scored a career high of 29 points.
Bollwahn added to her career high with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
Venick dished out 4 assists.
Four Cowgirls scored in double digits.
