KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization of Coaches (IWSOC) in partnership with the United Soccer Coaches released the week eight National Top 25 poll this morning with the Rangers once again receiving votes.
This is the fourth week in a row the Rangers have been represented in the polls with them earning votes two times and previously being ranked No. 22 in the nation on Oct. 6.
Regis earns this recognition while sitting at 14-2 (10-0 RMAC) this season and being on a 13-game winning streak. They currently lead the RMAC with 30 points in first place and can clinch the regular season title this week with either a Colorado Mesa loss/tie against UCCS.
The Rangers are one of just two teams in the RMAC to have double digit wins this season while their 13-game winning streak is the longest running in the nation for Division II.
This past week they went 2-0 in conference play with shutout victories over Western Colorado and Fort Lewis while the duo of defender Brooklyn Bailey and goalkeeper Maggie Payne were named as two of the RMAC's players of the week.
In addition to the IWSOC polls, the second release of the NCAA Percentage Index (NPI) rankings also came out yesterday with Regis being the No. 16 team in the nation. They are the highest of any RMAC team with them also ranking fourth in the South Central Region to lead the conference.
These rankings play a significant factor in making the NCAA Tournament with only the top six teams from the conference making it, including the automatic qualifiers of each conference's tournament winner.
