Dylan Forbord converted a pair of free throws, and
Logan Flores-Peoples finished a layup off a pass from
Nick Marabito. Regis continued to attack the paint with layups from Soden and Marabito, and Walters capitalized on a UCCS turnover with a transition bucket. Marabito closed the half strong, scoring the final six points for the Rangers, but Regis trailed 36–32 at the break.
Frith opened the second half with a three-pointer, while Walters added a layup, and Soden converted an and-one opportunity to cut the deficit to 46–44. Walters tied the game with another layup, and Marabito gave Regis its first lead of the half with a jumper. Soden and Walters then hit back-to-back three-pointers to keep the Rangers within one, 59–58. UCCS responded with a 7–0 run to regain control, but Walters stopped the momentum with two free throws.
