Rangers Open Season Strong at CSU-Pueblo Early Bird Meet

PUEBLO, Colo. – The Regis University men's track and field team kicked off its outdoor season at the CSU Pueblo Dr. Dan Caprioglio Early Bird Meet on Friday and Saturday, turning in several solid performances across the board.

Action began Friday with Josh Dominguez leading the way in the javelin, posting a top throw of 45.30 meters. Freshman Jebediah Stickel followed with an impressive showing in the triple jump, recording a mark of 12.30 meters.

On Saturday, the Rangers saw strong performances in distance events, highlighted by Liam Chavez in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 33:45.87, followed by William Oakes at 34:37.59.

In the 1,500 meters, Quinn McKnight paced Regis with a time of 4:03.35, just ahead of Lyon Craig (4:03.55). Nathan Dyck (4:07.58), Carson Schuler (4:14.87), John Murphy (4:15.59), and Alex Sullivan (5:03.44) rounded out the field.

Craig also led the Rangers in the 400 meters with a time of 52.82, followed by Canaan Fitzpatrick (53.47), McKnight (54.08), Eric Herrera (54.74), Murphy (54.84), Iker Acosta-Ferrara (55.15), Schuler (56.68), and Dyck (1:01.21).

Stickel continued his strong debut with a time of 16.75 in the 110-meter hurdles. In the 100 meters, Fitzpatrick posted a team-best 11.63, followed by Bradley Petrie at 12.39.

The meet marked a strong start to the season for the Rangers, with multiple athletes setting early benchmarks heading into the rest of the outdoor campaign.
