COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Regis University Women's Cross Country team ran their first race of the 2026 season at the UCCS Rust Buster, run at Monument Valley Park. The Rangers took third place out of six teams with 90 team points.
Ainara Sainz de Rozas was the individual champion, finishing in 17:07.7, 40 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. The time also set a new Regis record, and a course record.
Joining her in the top-10, Allie Braney took sixth place. The Rangers previous record holder beat her own best time by 20 seconds, posting a time of 18:18.2.
Danzi Jones scored 23 points for the Rangers with a mark of 19:28.8, while Caitie Slattery finished in 19:46.2, scoring 25.
Madi Gifford was the final scorer, recording a time of 20:38.8 and scoring 25.
Also competing were Mila Stamper (20:50.0), Rosie Portillo (21:07.3), and Isabella Marinaccio (22:38.7).
The Rangers return to action on Saturday, September 19 at the MSU-Denver Roadrunners Invite at Washington Park in Denver.
