2022-23 | Junior
Gonzalez competed in eight events and posted a scoring average of .77.47 across 17 total rounds. He posted a season-low round of one-under 71 in Round One of the Souther Colorado Masters (March 20, 2023). After carding rounds of 73 and 75, Gonzalez earned his best finish of the season with a tie for 35th overall at the RMAC Championships with a score of +15 (231).

Competed in eight tournaments for the Rangers... Shot 22 rounds on the season, averaging 78.09 strokes per round... Matched his season's best at the March 14-15 Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout in Alameda, Calif., and at the April 4-5 RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear, Ariz. with a 15-over 231... Placed fourth amongst Regis golfers and tied for 37th at the April 17-19 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships in Chandler, Ariz...

A 2020 graduate of Buckingham School in Bogota, Colombia … Represented Colombia in a couple world championships … Also played for Local Course Team … Was named best IB mathematics of his class … Selected for a pre-collegiate course at Stanford University and Yale University … Also served as academic director of the school’s Model United Nations … Did community service in foundation during his last two years of high school back in Bogota, Colombia, helping girls with academic difficulties and low-income parents with homework and academic difficulties.

Parents are Jose Luis Gonzalez and Andrea Baron … Has a brother named Juan Diego … Admires Phil Knight the most among athletics-related figures because of his power as an entrepreneur and his unyielding courage, his lesson of the strength with which life and sports have been assumed, his belief that the results are consistent with the levels of perseverance and confidence, and his legacy being the result of a life well-lived … Likes everything about Regis University, especially the combination of sports and academics since they make a fair balance … “Right now” is what he considers as his best sports moment … Plans to return to Colombia and try to live a competitive life after graduation … Usually does foundation social work with his family during the year, especially during back-to-school time for kids … Majoring in business administration and minoring in international business.
