Darron Greer, Men's Basketball (1989-91)
Darron Greer, a two-year standout player for the Rangers in 1989, owns some of the all-time records in Regis men's basketball history. Greer started all 58 games in his career, recording 1,648 minutes on the court. His career .623 field goal percentage ranks first all-time in team history. Additionally, his relentlessness on the glass allowed him to finish with the best career offensive (4.4 rpg) and defensive (6.3 rpg) rebounding per game averages. He posts a 10.7 career rebounding average in total, which ranks second in the career record books for RU. During his two remarkable seasons, Greer entered the elite 1,000-point club with 1,104 points. During the 1989-90 season, Greer scored 515 points for a 17.8 points per game average while also averaging a double-double with 11.3 rebounds per game. The very next season, he once again averaged a double-double with 20.3 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Greer had a major impact on the team, as well as in the conference.
Denise Lopez, Women's Basketball (2003-07)
Denise Lopez is another one of the players that etches her name among the all-time greats in Regis women's basketball history. Denise was a two-time RMAC Defensive Player of the Year Award recipient, and the only player in program history to win back-to-back RMAC Defensive Player of the Year awards, coming in 2006 and 2007. Denise led the conference in free-throw percentage (.819) in 2004. Three years later in 2007, Denise led the RMAC in rebounds per game (8.9), defensive rebounds per game (6.0) and had the most double doubles among any player that season, securing 15 double-doubles in 31 games. Some notable accolades include being named 2007 All-RMAC First Team, 2005 and 2006 East Division Second Team, and 2007 RMAC Shootout MVP. Nationally, Denise was named 2007 Daktronicks All-North Central Region First Team. Denise ranks first all-time in the Regis record books with 122 games played, and her 465 free-throws made are the second-most in the team's history along with her 646 career defensive rebounds. Other career rankings for Denise include ranking third in rebounds (950), third in steals (300), fourth in points (1,458), and fifth in offensive rebounds (304). In total, Denise ranks in the top-20 in 25 career all-time statistical categories.
Diana Lopez, Women's Basketball (2003-07)
Diana Lopez is often regarded as the greatest player to have ever put on a Regis University women's basketball jersey. Diana was a three-time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Player of the Year (2005, 06, 07) Award winner, while adding RMAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2005. She was a three-time All-RMAC First Team selection (2005-07). Diana led the RMAC in scoring and steals in 2004 (18.0 ppg, 4.59 spg), 2005 (20.3 ppg, 3.56 spg), and 2006 (17.5 ppg, 4.55 spg). In 2006-07, Lopez led all of Division II women's basketball with 141 total steals. Another list of accolades includes being named 2007 Kodak/WBCA Honorable Mention All-America, 2007 Daktronicks All-America Third Team, 2006 and 2007 Daktronicks All-North Central Region First Team, and 2005 Daktronicks All-North Central Region Second Team. Diana remains the all-time leading scorer in Regis women's basketball history with 1,996 points, which also ranks second all-time in the RMAC. In total, Diana ranks in the top-19 in 21 separate career all-time statistical categories in Regis women's basketball history. In 2009, Diana was named the RMAC Centennial Team All-Time Top Player, recognizing the best player to have ever played in the RMAC.
Lonnie Porter, Men's Basketball (1977-2015)
Lonnie Porter, the legendary Regis University men's basketball coach, spent 38 years at the helm for Regis spanning from 1977 to his final season in 2014-15. The 38-year tenure is unsurpassed by any college basketball coach in Colorado history. Throughout his career with the Rangers, Porter won 538 games which remains the most wins among any coach in state history, as well as RU men's basketball history. Porter's 538 wins account for 53.3 percent of the total number of wins (1,008) in the 72-year history of men's basketball at Regis. Porter is the 39
th winningest coach in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II coaching history among all-time wins. After a stand-out high school career at East High School in Waterloo, Iowa, Porter starred on the basketball court and track at Adams State College in Alamosa. He earned All-America accolades three times as a basketball player at Adams State before graduating in 1965. Porter's achievements have been recognized in many ways, including four separate Hall of Fame inductions: Colorado Sports Hall of Fame (2001), Waterloo (Iowa) East High School Hall of Fame (2003), Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Hall of Fame (2004) and Iowa Basketball Hall of Fame (2013). Also notable was Porter's role as a torch-bearer during the Denver leg of the 2002 Winter Olympics Torch Run. It would be remiss to say that Porter set a standard for excellence at Regis, helping to put the Rangers on the map and continually move the program forward.
The
2012 Regis University men's soccer team has been chosen as the team induction for the Class of 2019. The 2012 campaign was one of the most successful seasons in Regis University men's soccer history. The team finished the season 17-2-1 (.875 win %) that season, setting a new team record for most wins in single-season history. Head coach,
Tony McCall was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), Coach of the Year after leading his No. 1 ranked squad to the third-round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Men's Soccer Championship. Prior to the NCAA Tournament, the Rangers finished a perfect 14-0-0 in RMAC play for the first time in history, and ranked No. 1 in the NSCAA National Coaches' Poll for three-consecutive weeks.
Taylor Diem was named RMAC Defensive Player of the Year, and four players earned All-RMAC First Team nods including Martin Maybin,
Alex Tarnoczi, Logan Miller and Diem. Diem (1

rd) all earned spots on NSCAA All-America Teams that year. Maybin locked up a spot on the Daktronicks All-America Second Team, becoming the first. As a team, the 2012 squad broke numerous team records including scoring the most points (173, 64 goals, 45 assists), averaging the most points per game (8.65), averaging the most goals per game (3.20) and scoring the most goals (65) in a season in program history. The team allowed only 19 goals all season while earning eight shutouts. The team accounted for 45 assists (2.25 per game) in 2012, ranking second in the all-time team record books at RU. The 2012 team accomplished so many things during the 2012 season and it has earned them an induction into the Regis University Hall of Fame.
