Danica Cutshall | Women’s Lacrosse | 2011-2014
Cutshall was known for her natural leadership, both on and off the field. When she graduated, she was the most prolific Ranger on the draw, and still ranks second in career draw controls (310), and the second-highest total in a season (122).
A dynamic player, she remains among the career leaders in a variety of statistical categories, including points, assists, caused turnovers, and free position goals.
Her academic success was equally impressive, collecting two Academic All-American nods, and an Academic Player of the Year Award from the IWLCA with a near-perfect GPA, while earning a neuroscience degree.
She pushed those around her to be better, and brought in a new era of Regis Lacrosse. Her freshman season saw the Rangers' first winning season, and they have never looked back since.
Dexter Sienko | Men’s Basketball | 2014-18
A day-one starter, Sienko holds the Regis record for games started with 112 in his 116 games played. He instantly made a large impact, leading the Rangers in both rebounds and blocks each of his four seasons. Known for his stellar defense, including his 64-block season that no Ranger has approached since, he is also one of the most efficient scorers to put on a Regis uniform. He has the sixth most points scored (1,629), while also having the sixth best career FG% (57.7%). His impact also was felt on the boards, being top three in offensive, defensive, and total rebounds.
Sienko was a cornerstone piece of the teams that turned around the Regis program. He joined a team that hadn’t seen double-digit wins in seven years, and his senior year the Rangers won a team-record 27 games, won the RMAC Tournament, and made the NCAA National Tournament.
He still stands as the only Ranger to win a conference Defensive Player of the Year award, and was the first Ranger to be named to a D2CCA All-South Central Region team. He earned two First-Team All-RMAC Accolades, one Second-Team, and performed in the classroom as well, making two CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-District awards.
Dan McDermott | Baseball | 2001-13
Coach McDermott ushered in a new level of consistency for the Regis Rangers Baseball program. RU had just seven seasons of more than 20 wins before he took command, but recorded fewer than 20 victories only once in his 13 seasons as head coach.
In 2012, McDermott led the Rangers to their first-ever Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Championship, and second appearance in the NCAA National Tournament. Regis won 33 games, the second-best mark at the time, including two games in the National Tournament, and had one player named to the Regional All-Tournament Team.
During his tenure, he coached nine All-Americans, 29 All-Region Players, six Regional Gold Glove recipients, and two Academic All-Americans. In total, Regis earned 22 First-Team All-RMAC nods, 25 Second-Team Selections, 11 Third-Teamers, and 18 All-RMAC Honorable Mentions under McDermott’s tutelage, including one RMAC Player of the Year and four Freshmen of the Year. He also collected one Coach of the Year accolade himself.
Logan Losh | Softball | 2017-2018
Losh is one of only two Rangers to be named RMAC Pitcher of the Year, and the only one to win the award twice. She instantly became the Ranger’s ace after transferring from Colorado State University her junior season, making 33 starts over 39 appearances. She posted 23 wins, including a Regis record eight shutouts.
She would continue that production into her senior season, with eight more shutouts and an RU record 16 career blank sheets, and 21 more wins ranks her sixth all time with 44.
Despite just two seasons with the Rangers, Losh is also among the career leaders in strikeouts (315), and complete games (52). Her efficiency is unmatched, allowing the lowest opponent batting average, the second lowest earned run average at 1.99, and the fourth most strikeouts per seven innings at 5.56.
Losh was voted to the NFCA Second-Team All-Region in 2017, and made the RMAC All-Tournament Team in 2018, being a First-Team All-RMAC selection both seasons.
Nikki Kennedy | Volleyball | 2017-2019
In just three seasons as a Ranger, Kennedy became one of the most decorated players in Regis Volleyball history. She was the first Ranger to be named a First-Team All-American in 20 years, and led the team to the most wins in the same amount of time with 31. Her senior season, Regis made their third-ever trip to the NCAA Final Four, and in her three years, RU captured two RMAC Regular Season and Tournament Titles.
She was the first Ranger to be named a Defensive Player of the Year, and one of two to be the RMAC Player of the Year. Kennedy was a force both offensively, with some of the most efficient attacking matches and season in program history, to go with multiple of the best blocking games and years. Her ferocity on the court was complemented by her ability to calm the team with a comment in the huddle.
She graduated as a member of the 1,000 kill club, while ranking top five in attacking percentage (.352), total blocks (451), block assists (376), and block per set (1.29). Since her graduation, few Rangers have matched her level of national notoriety or production.
Derek Dilts | Men’s Soccer | 1992-1995
Derek Dilts was the defensive anchor for the Rangers as the team reached new heights in the early 90s. His efforts at goalkeeper helped the Rangers win two Colorado Athletic Conference Championships. In 1993, Regis went 14-4-2, winning the CAC Championship, and ended the season nationally ranked for the first time in program history.
On top of holding the single-season saves record of 141, he holds three more spots in the top seven marks in Regis history, never recording fewer than 100 saves in a year. He also has two seasons in the top-three best save percentages for RU. His career-best mark of .844 was the top spot when he graduated, and has only been surpassed once, by his own teammate.
A mainstay in the line-up since the day he stepped on campus, Dilts has played nearly 2,000 more minutes at keeper than any other Ranger in history, totaling 7,520 over 79 matches and 59 starts. With his name still littered across the Regis record book, Dilts left a legacy of incredible goalie play, both by the standards of Regis University, and on the national level.
2001 Women's Soccer Team
The 2001 Rangers Women’s Soccer team dominated from the first match of the year. 18 wins was the best season at the time, and has been surpassed only once. One loss remains the lowest ever for the Rangers. With an undefeated run through the RMAC, RU won their third Regular Season Conference Title, second Conference Tournament Crown, and third appearance in the NCAA National Tournament.
Leading the Rangers were NSCAA First Team All-Americans Nicole Meyer and Kate Murphy, First Team All-Region keeper Taresa Cavaliere, Second Team All-Region performers Ashley Blain-Hartung, Shantelle Wagner, and Arlene Basquez. All these players earned All-RMAC recognition as well, with Murphy being the first Ranger to be named the RMAC Freshman of the Year.
Cavaliere set the Rangers single-season goals against average record in 2001 at 0.45, and tied for the third most shutouts at 10. Basquez took the most shots in a match ever for RU, with 16 at New Mexico Highlands, and scored seven game-winning goals, the second best total.
As a team, the Rangers recorded the most shots per game in program history at 21.10, and rank in the top 10 in nearly every statistical category. The team started the season ranked #22 nationally, sat at #3 for most of the year, and sat at #10 in the final postseason poll.
