Cade Michael

  • Title
    Assistant Track & Field Coach

Cade is a former RMAC athlete, having competed for Western Colorado where he earned All-American Honors in Cross-Country, RMAC runner-up in the steeplechase, bronze medals in the indoor 3000m and outdoor 5000m, as well as receiving the RMAC Summit Award and being a finalist for RMAC Man of the Year. Prior to Western Colorado, Cade competed at the Division I level for Texas State University.

After competing collegiately, Cade earned an outdoor industry MBA from Western Colorado whilst competing at the international level in trail running events like the Golden Trail World Series and coaching former teammates and clients to personal bests in events from the 5km to Half Marathon.

Cade's track personal bests are: 8:04@ 3k, 8:55 3k Steeple, and 14:06 5k.

Cade has a notably unique ratio of abilities between chess and checkers. Despite excelling in chess since joining the chess club in 5th grade, Cade has never won a game of checkers in his entire life - and not for lack of trying. Cade also was the creator of what is now known as the “John Butler Memorial Root Beer Mile”, a non-alcoholic but pro-fun event still held annually in his hometown of Midland, Texas that draws hundreds of participants each year. He does not, however, condone the consumption of sugary, carbonated beverages whilst striving for peak performance.
