Willie Moore enters his second year as the Head Coach of the Ranger's Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track and Field teams in 2025-26. A former coach and athlete at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, Moore returned to the RMAC in 2024 after spending a year on the staff at Colgate University.
In his first year at Regis, Moore coached the men’s and women’s cross country teams to their best conference finishes in the past 9 and 6 years. The Rangers recorded their best Regional Results in the past 8 and 6 years as well. Nathan Dyck ran the second-fastest 8k time in school history. Quinn McKnight ran the 8th fastest time in school history. Melayna Barclay ran the 12th Fastest 6k time in school history.
In his first track season at Regis, Moore started a new program consisting of women’s indoor track and field and women’s plus men’s outdoor track and field. Moore coached all track and field event groups, including the shot put, discus, javelin, high jump, long jump, hurdles, sprints, middle distance, and distance events.
Lindsey Cure won the Javelin Throw at the 2025 RMAC Championship, becoming the first Regis Track and Field Athlete to win a Conference Title. Cure qualified for the 2025 DII National Championship Meet with a javelin throw of 46.43 meters (152’4”). She finished 17th overall. Cure won the RMAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, the week of April 14th.
Bryn McNair finished as the 2025 RMAC Championship runner-up in the outdoor high jump, clearing 1.67 meters (5’5.75”).
Nathan Dyck ran altitude-adjusted times of 14:57 for 5k and 3:59 for 1500m. His 5k mark ranked as the second-fastest true freshman in the Conference this year. Caitie Slattery hacked 24 seconds off her personal best, running 4:50 altitude adjusted for 1500m.
The Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Team finished 9th of 15 at the Conference Championship. The Rangers had six RMAC Outdoor Championship qualifiers in the 100mH/400mH, Javelin, 1500m, and High Jump. The Rangers qualified two athletes for the RMAC Indoor Championships in the 800m and High Jump.
Moore is a UCCS graduate, where he captained his cross country team to a 12th-place finish at the 2018 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. He also set a school record in the men's outdoor 3000 Meters and was an All-RMAC performer in the 1500 Meters and the Mile in 2019. In the classroom, Moore earned a degree in Economics and was an RMAC Academic Honor Roll recipient in both 2017 and 2018 and was on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team in 2018.
After graduating, Moore immediately joined the coaching ranks and worked as an Assistant Coach at UCCS and Discovery Canyon High School between 2019 and 2023.
During his time at UCCS, the men's cross country program finished 5th nationally at the 2021 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. The women’s team finished 4th at the following championships. Afewerki Zeru won a national championship in the 5000 Meters at the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships and was third in the nation in the 10,000 Meters. Evan Graff and Afe Zeru set school records in the 1500m run: 3:45, 3k: 7:59, 5k: 13:44, and 10k: 28:56.
At Discovery Canyon High School, Moore coached Lauren McDowell to a runner-up finish in the 2023 Colorado State Track and Field Championships in a time of 25.04 for the 200m. Lauren also ran the second-fastest 100m time in school history at 12.35 that season.
At Colgate, both Raider cross country programs had their best finishes at the DI Patriot League Championships in 11 years. Dakin Ebmeyer set a freshman mile record of 4:07 and finished 4th in the Patriot League Indoor Championships. Freshman Audrey Luell set a freshman record of 5:05 for the mile.
Continuing to train after college, Moore self-coached himself to personal bests of a 4:04 mile, 14:02 5k, and 65:47 half marathon. Moore is engaged to Marah Guzman, a 6th-grade teacher and coach. They reside in Arvada, Colorado.
