Ruffino enters her first season as a graduate assistant at Regis University in 2018-19. She joins the women’s basketball program after two years as a student manager at the University of California Santa Barbara. In 2016-17 she assisted with the men’s program, helping lay the ground work for the Gaucho’s 17-win turnaround from 2017 to 2018.  She spent this past season assisting the UCSB women’s program, helping the Gauchos in all aspects of practice and games.
 
Prior to enrolling at UCSB, Ruffino spent three seasons as a student athlete at Ventura College. She redshirted in 2013-14 while recovering from knee surgery, helping the Pirates to a 32-3 record and the California Community College state championship. As an active player, she and the Pirates produced a two-year mark of 52-11, including a perfect 24-0 record in Western State Conference play, with two conference titles. Ruffino earned first-team All-WSC honors both seasons with the Pirates. She also earned Academic All-State honors two seasons at VC.
 
Ruffino earned her Associate of Arts degrees in natural science and kinesiology at Ventura College. She achieved a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UCSB, while earning certificates in health and wellness, personal training and sports management.
