Jason Kohler

Jason Kohler was named the sixth head coach in Regis University women’s basketball history after an impressive three-year rise through the program’s ranks. Kohler, who previously served as a graduate assistant and assistant coach for the Rangers, has played an instrumental role in one of the most successful stretches in program history.

Kohler joined the Regis women’s basketball staff as a graduate assistant during the 2022–24 seasons. In his first year, he helped guide the Rangers to both the RMAC regular season and tournament championships—the program’s first conference sweep since 2006–07. That season also saw Regis advance to the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament for the first time since the 2016–17 season, highlighted by multiple All-Conference honorees and the RMAC Player of the Year.

In 2023–24, Kohler helped the Rangers capture another RMAC Tournament title while tying a program record with 26 victories. Regis continued to produce top talent, earning multiple All-RMAC and All-Region selections under his guidance. Promoted to assistant coach for the 2024–25 campaign, Kohler’s leadership contributed to 64 wins across three seasons—one of the most successful three-year spans in program history. During this time, the Rangers also developed professional players, maintained a strong academic reputation, and consistently competed at the top of the RMAC.

Beyond Regis, Kohler brings a diverse background in coaching and player development. He has coached AAU basketball at multiple levels, including national and youth teams, and served as a high school JV and Varsity Assistant Coach for over two years after relocating to Colorado. His experience includes three years with Point Guard College (PGC), an internationally recognized player development organization, as well as running Jr. 76ers Summer Camps. Additionally, he has trained numerous overseas professionals as a skills trainer and development coach.

An active member of the Rising Coaches network and the Latino Association of Basketball Coaches (LABC), Kohler is recognized for his dedication to player development, team culture, and leadership growth. His deep connection to the Regis community and commitment to the program’s values make him a true “Ranger through and through.”
