Brook Skidmore begins her fourth year on staff as the sports psychology counselor in 2019-20.
Most recently, Skidmore worked as a sport psychology consultant and personal trainer for the Colorado Athletic Club. The service she provided at this facility was the first of its kind helping individuals and teams within the community.
Prior to CAC, Skidmore spent two years at Western Washington University serving as a sport/performance and exercise psychology consultant. Western Washington is also where she earned her second postgraduate degree with a masters of science in kinesiology with an emphasis in sports psychology in 2015. During her time at WWU, Skidmore served as both a graduate teaching assistant and as an adjunct kinesiology professor.
Skidmore has experience at the collegiate level, previously working with women’s basketball, volleyball, women’s rowing, climbing and ultimate frisbee. At the high school and youth level, she has worked with golf, swimming, hockey, and with a highly competitive U16 softball team. Other clientele includes amateur MMA fighters, distance runners, tennis players, recreational weightlifters and exercisers as well as collegiate performing arts students.
Skidmore also earned a masters of science in exercise science and sport studies with a strength and conditioning emphasis in 2007 from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. Originally from Aurora, Colo., Skidmore carried out her undergraduate degree from BYU in Provo, Utah.
