Lauren Tekavec begins her first season as the graduate assistant volleyball coach in 2018. A native of Colorado Springs, CO., Tekavec played collegiately at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. While with the Mocs, Tekavec played in 83 matches and contributed to a 205-48 overall record and four NCAA tournament appearances.
Tekavec received the Athletic Director Scholar Athlete award in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Graduating Summa Cum Laude, with a GPA of 3.99, she received degrees in history and secondary education.
Since her time at Florida Southern, Tekavec has been teaching world history and American history at Doherty High School in Colorado Springs, CO. In 2016, she was named the varsity head coach at Doherty. Tekavec also has coached teams for Colorado Juniors Volleyball Club in Monument Colorado, as well as Southern Select Volleyball club in Lakeland FL.
