Chris Ruemenapp

Chris Ruemenapp is in his third year as the Leadership Annual Giving Officer for Ranger Athletics. 2015-16 marked the first time the athletic department has had a designated position to raise funds through annual giving, scholarships, facility projects and alumni events. In two years, the athletic department has seen an increase in donations to the Blue & Gold Club, Locker Legacy Program and facility projects including the new softball locker room and new indoor hitting facility for the baseball and softball programs.

Prior to coming to Regis, Ruemenapp gained extensive experience in intercollegiate athletics administration while at Conference USA in Irving, Texas. While at Conference USA, he established a new conference-wide marketing partnership with USA Football’s “Heads Up Football” Program, was a liaison to each member institutions’ student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC), and served as the primary administrator for the 2014 C-USA Cross Country Championships. In addition to his time at Conference USA, Ruemenapp served as a primary administrator for the inaugural 2014 Popeyes Bahamas Bowl in Nassau, Bahamas. Ruemenapp served as an official team liaison for participating universities and coaching staffs, coordinated all bowl week events, and administered a youth football clinic for local Bahamian children.

Prior to Conference USA, Ruemenapp was a teacher, coach and Annual Fund coordinator at his Jesuit High School alma mater, the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy. While at U of D Jesuit, Ruemenapp oversaw the school’s intramural sports program, coached Varsity football and baseball, and taught sophomore-level communication courses while also raising scholarship funds for the school.

Ruemenapp graduated from Michigan State University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in communication and specialization in public relations where he first began his career in development. While at Michigan State, Ruemenapp assisted in raising $4.5 million for the university over the course of a fiscal year through alumni donations.  He piloted a new development program for University Advancement where he traveled throughout the state meeting with Spartan alumni. In a supervisory role, he managed teams of 10-18 student fundraisers for the MSU Annual Fund while also training and developing student callers.

Ruemenapp’s deep passion for college athletics stems from being a former student-athlete and from his experience working as a defensive line student manager for the Spartan football program. Ruemenapp was a member of the Michigan State football staff that saw the Spartans win the 2011 Legends Division, 2012 Outback Bowl and 2012 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.

Ruemenapp is thrilled to be back with his Jesuit roots which have played a big part in his personal and professional life. He is excited to be a part of the Regis Ranger family, and he looks forward to connecting with countless alumni, parents, and former student-athletes of Regis University in helping to take Ranger Athletics to new heights.

Originally from Livonia, Michigan, Ruemenapp moved to Colorado in October of 2015 and resides in Denver.
