James Wagenschutz

James Wagenschutz enters his fourth season on the Regis University men’s soccer coaching staff in the fall of 2016 after having served as the head assistant men’s coach at Colorado College for six years. While at Colorado College, Wagenschutz coached two-time All-American (Matt Fechter in 2011 and 2012), 25 all-conference players, 12 all-region selections, and five Academic All-Americans. In 2012, three Tiger players were named Academic All-marking the first time in school history three players from the same team earned the distinction during the same academic year. That same team compiled a 14-5-3 record, posted 12 shutouts and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award each of Wagenschutz’ six years and posted the fifth highest grade-point average in the country (3.54) in 2008.

A native of Detroit, Mich., Wagenschutz spent four years working with Outward Bound Wilderness before becoming involved with the U.S. Soccer Federation where he managed the equipment operations for all U.S. National Teams at the National Training Center in Carson, Calif.
