Mark Vig is in his third season as an assistant coach with the Rangers in 2015-16. Vig works primarily with the Ranger outfielders. Vig also assists with all aspects of the Regis offense, opponent scouting, recruiting, team travel, and serves as the first base coach on game days.
In 2014, under Vig's guidance, senior centerfielder Jesse Porras was named to the RMAC All-Defensive Gold Glove Team. Porras also garnered regional honors as he was named to the ABCA 2nd Team All-Gold Glove Team.
Vig has spent the past few summers staying extremely involved in the baseball coaching circuit. In the summer of 2015, Vig was an assistant coach for the Arvada Colts of the Rocky Mountain Baseball League. In 2014, Vig was the head coach of the St. Charles Captains of the Lewis and Clark Baseball League and in 2013, Vig was involved with the Colorado Sports Inc. baseball summer camps in the mountains. As a native of Yankton, SD, Vig coached in the Yankton Baseball Association from 2009-12. In 2010 and 2012, Vig also worked with the Kansas City Royals "Pass It On" summer clinics.
Vig, graduated from the University of Sioux Falls (S.D.) in the spring of 2013 with a B.A. in business administration and another in sports management. Vig was a 2013 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) All-Conference Academic player. In 2012, Vig was nominated for the TD Ameritrade’s National Fan’s Choice Award.
Vig is currently pursuing a Master's degree from Regis in Organizational Leadership.
