Spencer Bowersmith was elevated from Strength and Conditioning Coordinator to the Assistant AD-Sports Performance in October of 2022. He joined the Regis staff as the Head Strength and Conditioning coach in August 2021, overseeing the athletic performance of all 13 Ranger athletic programs. He works directly with men’s basketball, women's lacrosse, men’s soccer, volleyball and women’s soccer. 
 
Before coming to Regis, Bowersmith was the Assistant Director of Sports Performance at Santa Clara University, where he oversaw all aspects of sports performance for women’s basketball, softball, men’s tennis, cross country and track & field. While at SCU, he was a part of the team that built the Athletic Excellence Center weight room. The AEC was part of a $25 million athletics development project to provide dedicated space for sports performance, sports medicine, nutrition, and two practice gyms. 

Prior to SCU, he was a graduate assistant at San Jose State, teaching in the department of Kinesiology. Prior to working with SJSU, Bowersmith spent time coaching at the University of California, working with the Golden Bears football program. He also previously served as the head strength and conditioning coach at Palo Alto High School and Lynbrook High School, where he was also the track & field jumps coach.

Bowersmith currently owns and operates SB Performance Lab, where he trains competitive athletes. He has experience at the professional level working with the San Jose Earthquakes and volunteering with the San Jose Sharks. 

Bowersmith graduated from San Jose State in 2017 with a Master’s degree in exercise physiology. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Athletic Training from CSU East Bay in 2012. He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) and the American Heart Association (CPR & First Aid).

Born and raised in the SF Bay Area, he and his wife, Myndi, reside in Thornton with their dogs, Jax and Ivy. He enjoys playing in competitive recreational soccer leagues, watching his favorite TV shows, and rooting for the San Jose Sharks, the San Franscisco 49ers and Golden State Warriors.
