Denver, Colo.: Regis University Director
of Athletics Barbara Schroeder announced today the hiring of Tony
McCall as the new Regis Head Men's Soccer Coach. McCall
replaces Keith Tiemeyer who left Regis to become an assistant coach
at NCAA Division I University of Wisconsin-Madison.
McCall currently works at Sports Source where he travels the
country speaking to prospective student-athletes and their parents
to help navigate the college search process. Prior to that,
McCall was Technical Director within the Colorado Storm Soccer
Association from 2005-2007. He was responsible for over 100
local soccer coaches and their education as well as the
organizations player development and the overall budget of the
Colorado Storm.
McCall currently sits on the Board of Directors for the National
Soccer Coaches Association which is the largest coaches
organization, regardless of sport, in the world. He has been
on the board of the almost 20,000 member association since 2003.
"To have the opportunity to work at an academic institution like
Regis is a dream" states McCall. "The mission of the

with quality young men and recruit and develop the leaders of
tomorrow is something I am looking forward to."
McCall was an assistant coach at Metro State for two seasons
(2002-03) where he was primarily responsible for recruiting
prospective student-athletes on a local, regional and national
basis. Prior to his stint at Metro State, he was the
Executive Director for the Colorado Xtreme Soccer Club in Denver
from 1998-2005.
"Tony will be a good fit here at Regis, we are excited to have
him lead our men's soccer program," states Regis Director of
Athletics Barbara Schroeder. "With his experience in college
athletics and his vast knowledge of the youth soccer scene around
Colorado and nationally he will be a great asset."
Prior to moving to Denver, McCall was the head coach at
NCAA Division I Stetson University in Deland, Fla. from
1993-98. McCall won 34 games in five seasons at Stetson
including an 11-8-1 record in 1997. The native of Ireland,
McCall got his first coaching position at Div. I South
Alabama in Mobile where he was the assistant coach from 1987-93.
McCall also states, "The program is going in the proper
direction and I believe that the group of guys that are in
place can be very successful not only at the RMAC level but
also nationally. I look forward to working with all of them
on a daily basis."
Regis University is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in
the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).
