Box Score Chadron, Neb.: After tough back-to-back home losses, the Regis Ranger volleyball team traveled to take on Chadron State and came away with a straight set 25-10, 25-13, 25-17 victory.
Regis (15-9, 10-5 RMAC) started out strong in the first set hitting .296 while limiting Chadron State (2-21, 1-14 RMAC) to a -.114 attack percentage. Regis again helped themselves by not allowing the Eagles to a service ace, the fourth time this season the Rangers have had no reception errors in a match.
Freshman Christy Henzgen led all players with 13 kills which marks the 14th straight match with double-figure kill totals and the 22nd time in the Rangers 24 matches. Senior Erin Anderson had a productive and efficient night hitting six kills with no errors in nine attempts for a .667 attack percentage.
The top blocking team in the RMAC, 2.4 per set, had just six blocks on the night, but forced the Eagles into 22 errors.
Senior Jessica Howe chipped in with five kills on 10 attempts and also no errors, while freshman Lauren Flanagan had a career-high four kills in just one set in eight attempts and also had no hitting errors.
Freshman Sage Martinson led the Ranger defesne with 11 digs, while sophomore Jordan Hughes dug out 10 balls. Senior Devin Eckhardt had eight digs and dished out 26 assists, while Hughes and Henzgen each had three service aces.
The Rangers travel across the state of Nebraska to take on ninth ranked Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday night.
